Webinar 101 - 302 - Successful Practices in Distributed Learning & Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners
Day 1: Monday, March 28, 2011
2:00 pm – 3:15 pm MST, Adobe Connect
Webinar presentation by Russ Wilde

Excellent pedagogy does not take place in a vacuum but rather as one element of an educational ecosystem. The delivery of quality blended learning for students requires a shared commitment by representatives of most departments in the organization, from executive through instructors and other front line staff. Effective decision making around "juggling costs and quality" requires an understanding of the elements that contribute to quality so that appropriate tradeoffs can be made. This presentation, which summarizes findings from a cross Alberta study, presents the perspectives of students, front line staff, administrators, and external stakeholders. The presentation will help clarify the determinants of quality that need to be considered when planning student support for distance and blended learning programs.
